This set includes photos from the POW camps to which Polish soldiers were sent after the fall of the Rising. The first group of the set is comprised of official record photographs taken Fallingbostel Stalag, where female officers were initially held. There are also sets taken by two insurgents, who somehow managed to keep their cameras throughout captivity. Wiesław Chrzanowski brought with him photos from the Oflags in Bergen-Belsen and Lübeck, while Czesław Gerwel documented the life in the hospital camp in Zeithain. Photographs from that period represent meticulous documentation of everyday life in the camps – meals and care of the wounded, as well as sport events and celebrations of holidays, which offered a break from the camp routine. There are also many posed souvenir photographs in this category.
