The photographs in this category document the work of the insurgent medical service, starting from evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield by medical patrols, to the functioning of hospitals and medical aid stations, to the rescuing of the patients from bombed facilities and evacuating them out of Warsaw, e.g. to the town of Milanówek, which was recorded by Romuald Witkowski. In August and September, there were several dozen hospitals and hundreds of medical aid posts across the city. There are some very interesting photos by Eugeniusz Lokajski which show surgical procedures conducted in extremely difficult conditions. Many of the images are posed photographs, typical souvenir snapshots, which show close-ups of both patients and the medical personnel tending to them.
