The author of these photographs was an unknown camp photographer of Stalag XI B in Fallingbostel. Initially, the camp was a place of incarceration of female officers who fought in the Rising. After the liberation of the camp, the collection was stolen by a French POW and photographer’s assistant, André Matton, who had fallen in love with a Polish woman, 2Lt. Zofia Berezowska. She can be seen in two photos. Among the persons portrayed is also Jadwiga Chruściel, daughter of Gen. Antoni Chruściel “Monter”, the commander of the Home Army’s Warsaw Region Apart from identification photographs, there are also situational images, showing the arrival of POWs at the camp. Running among the adults is a little girl, Dziunia, who arrived at the camp with her mother, Rifleman Wiktoria Darmosz ”Adusia”. The collection was donated to Poland in 2002.
