Documentation of insurgent barricades accounts for a large portion of the photographic footage. It includes images which show the process of construction, firing positions as well as insurgents and Warsaw residents posing for souvenir photos at the emplacements. The structures were comprised of various elements, from sandbags, pavement slabs and pieces of furniture, to barrels and wooden carts, to disabled cars and tram wagons. The barricade separating Napoleon Square from Szpitalna Street in City Centre North was a frequently photographed location. Incorporated in it was a captured German self-propelled gun Jagdpanzer 38(t) "Hetzer", nicknamed "Chwat" after its recommissioning by the insurgents. This category includes also photographs of other types of emplacements, as well as communication trenches, tunnels between cellars and bunkers.
