Take part in the Jamboree 2024 in Warsaw to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Warsaw Rising. All you need to know.

We kindly invite you to take part in this year’s Jamboree that marks the 80^th Anniversary of the Warsaw Rising. It will take place from 29 July 2024 to 2 August 2024 in Warsaw.

Warsaw, February 2024

“We, the Warsaw Insurgents, the soldiers of the Home Army, on 1 August 1944 took on a battle against crushing enemy forces. We stood up against the totalitarian evil fighing for a free Poland and its capital. We stood up to defend the values that we deemed more important than the life itself. Today, we do not have to fight anymore for these values. However, we have the duty to shape the reality so they never dissapear. On the Day of the 75^th Anniversary of the Warsaw Rising, we pass on to you, Our Dear Young Friends, the mission to preserve these values. May the future generations be strong and inspired sheltering them in their hearts. These values are: Freedom, Love for the Homeland, Faith, Honour, Integrity, Camarderie, Tolerance, Serving those in need, Diligence. These rules and ideals were of chief importance to us not only at the time of the Warsaw Rising but also all throughout our lives. We believe that you will build the world that resides on these values.”

The exhibition presents military, political, historical and personal aspects of the Warsaw Rising. For 63 days between 1 August and 2 October 1944 the inhabitants of the Polish capital were struggling against superior German forces whereas the Soviet Army abstained from giving a helping hand though standing on the other side of the Vistula river.

"Warsaw. Phoenix from the ashes" is the name of the exhibition that will be open for public in Osaka from 16 April 2024. It tells the story of the capital of Poland under German occupation, during Warsaw Rising in 1944 and after WW2. Earlier, the exhibition was shown in Hiroshima.

A city with chaotic and inconherent architecture, that is how Warsaw is often perceived by tourists. For Varsovians however, their city is beautiful because it was brought back to life. We cannot boast about ideally preserved relics of the past but thanks to thousands of Warsaw’s inhabitants the city has risen from the ashes.

Exhibition in Hiroshima

"Warsaw. Phoenix from the ashes" is the name of the exhibition that will be open for public in Hiroshima from 16 November 2023. It tells the story of the capital of Poland under German occupation, during Warsaw Rising and after WW2 when it was being brought back to life. The Exhibition was organized by the Warsaw Rising Museum and The Adam Mickiewicz Institute in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Tokio and Municipal Authorities of Hiroshima.
