The largest group of photographs show the soldiers of the fighting Warsaw. It includes atmospheric portraits documenting both very important events and everyday life. The photos show insurgents resting and eating in army guest houses, reading newspapers, building barricades and performing guard duties at their billets and headquarters, as well as taking part in special and festive events, such as the ceremony commemorating the Armed Forces Day held in the yard of a townhouse at Marszałkowska Street, meticulously documented by Joachim Joachimczyk, or the wedding of Alicja Treutler and Bolesław Biega, shown in photos by Eugeniusz Lokajski. There are numerous posed souvenir photos, e.g. with weapons from airdrops or at barricades.
