The collection is a record of everyday life during the Rising. It includes photographs of insurgents and civilians in various situations in the rear and not directly related to combat. For example, you can see soldiers over meals prepared in field kitchens by women of the Aid To Soldiers auxiliary service (nicknamed "peżetki"). These images emanate joy and enthusiasm, but there are also some that depict the anxiety of civilians taking cover from air raids in cellars. A large group of photos show church services and funerals, an inherent element of everyday life. Looking at the wedding of Alicja Treutler and Bolesława Biega, recorded by Eugeniusz Lokajski, you can forget for a brief moment that there was a war raging around. A similar impression is brought by photos of insurgents swimming in a fire water reservoir.
